Summer Program*

This program may include language and culture courses (based on meeting minimum enrollment): Elementary Spanish I and II, Intermediate Spanish I and II, Advanced Spanish I and II. All language courses have two components, Language and Culture. There is intensive and integrated practice of all skills (there are no more than ten students per section), and participants are encouraged to speak only Spanish at all times.

For students with a good knowledge of Spanish, seminars such as Latin American Cinema, Ecuadorian Literature, Andean Anthropology, etc. may be offered as well.

Courses are supplemented by afternoon seminars, professional field trips and special lectures.

• Seven or eight weeks in Ecuador at Universidad de Las Américas.
• Receive a transcript from Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA), Quito Campus.
• Different extra-curricular activities including volunteer work opportunities and dance lessons.
• Sports competitions with UDLA Ecuador students.
• Visits to historical sites and museums.

Semester and Year Programs (Taught in Spanish)

For students with advanced Spanish-speaking skills, who want to expand their knowledge of the language while taking courses, with Ecuadorian and other international students, Universidad de Las Américas offers immersion programs.
