Summer Program

Spanish Language Instruction Program*

Students will have a total immersion experience managed with a proven methodology: small groups, qualified teachers, and a safe and comfortable campus environment.

All of UICR ’s teachers use the communicative method of teaching. They emphasize the active use of the language in small group activities and conversations. The goal is to help students integrate their newly acquired Spanish language skills into a real world setting.
Field trips and cultural activities supplement in-class activities. Students may also participate in free Latin dance classes (given by professional dance instructors from local dance institutes) or optional classes in traditional Costa Rican cooking.

• Four-weeks in Costa Rica at Universidad Interamericana.
• Receive a UICR transcript.
• Multimedia support, with approximately ten hours of computer lab time per course.
• Free Fridays for optional activities or personal excursions.

Semester and Year Programs (Taught in Spanish)

For students with advanced Spanish-speaking skills, who want to expand their knowledge of the language while taking courses, with Costa Rican and other international students, Universidad Interamericana offers immersion programs

• Classes may be selected from any of Interamericana’s Academic Departments: Business, Communication, Humanities and Engineering.
• Semester or a year in Costa Rica at Universidad Interamericana.
• Receive an Interamericana transcript.
• Spanish Language courses available before and during the semester or yearlong program.
